SENIORS
This is another reminder of the important to communicate ALL college decisions to your School Counselor and Mrs. Baril (jean_baril@whps.org). Please note that all decisions will be kept confidential. If you plan to enter the military, workforce or other programs, let us know this too.  It’s important to hear back from you as we REALLY want to help ensure that each senior has a plan for after graduation; let us help you!!

You will receive other forms of communication throughout your remaining months at Hall HS regarding important events like senior prom, senior outing, graduation, cap and gown ordering, to name a few.  This will likely come from others not in our office so pay close attention to emails and daily notices. Typically these notices are included on the Hall website and Daily Notices.

Graduation date has been set for Tuesday, June 19th; mark your calendars!!

JUNIORS
Summer break is right around the corner; this is the perfect time to remember to keep up your momentum, plan ahead for final exam studying, and finish the school year strong!

You have already met individually with you counselor in planning for your senior year. If you have any questions regarding your course selection for next year, please don’t hesitate to see your school counselor.

The final SAT/ACT exams for the remaining part of the year are approaching. The late registration deadline for June 2nd SAT including Subject Tests is on Wednesday, May 23rd. To register go to www.collegeboard.org.

The late registration deadline for the June 9th ACT is Friday, May 18th. To register go to www.actstudent.org.

Remember the summer is the perfect time to work on pieces from Junior Seminar: i.e Brag sheet, resume, and your Common App.  We look forward to seeing you in the fall and helping you navigate your post-secondary plans.

SOPHOMORES
It's hard to believe that summer is only a few weeks away!

We recently held a "Spring Ahead" breakfast event for sophomore parents. Those in attendance had a chance to engage in discussion about trends we're seeing in the college admissions world and talk through strategy as to how to best support your current sophomore child in the months ahead.

Between now and the end of this school year, counselors will continue to meet with sophomores individually to recap on the year and to trouble shoot any conflicts that may arise with their course selections for next year. The summer is a great time for students to relax and have fun (first and foremost), but also a great time to explore future interests via various summer programs, internships, and employment. We encourage students to utilize their school counselor and the college/career center as a helpful resource for learning about various summer enrichment opportunities.

FRESHMEN
Hello Freshmae! You're almost there! In about five weeks you'll officially be sophomores. Let's think back to the beginning of the year when you set goals for your freshman year. Have you already achieved them? If not, there is still time!

Make sure that you are working with your teachers, doing your homework and starting to study for final exams. Practicing these habits will result in a strong finish to the school year. Remember, studying 15 minutes a night in addition to your homework will pay-off in June when you are taking final exams! Lastly, you should have met with your school counselor about course selection for sophomore year. If you have any lingering questions, please visit us in the school counseling office!
